2 November 2014 - The 1st World Taijiquan Championships opened on 1 November 2014 at the Dujiangyan Feilong Gymnasium in Chengdu of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The three-day event, which is of the highest level of its kind in the world, was jointly hosted by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), Chinese Wushu Association, Chengdu Municipal government and Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau, and attracted 297 taijiquan masters from 31 countries and regions across the world for exchange of taiji skills.
