24 May 2011, Dhaka, Bangladesh: Olympic Day is observed around the world annually on June 23, but with the kind permission of the International Olympic Committee, the Bangladesh Olympic Association is celebrating Olympic Day 2011 on Friday, June 24.

The BOA’s Olympic Day 2011 Organising Committee met on May 19 and the decision was taken to observe Olympic Day in a manner befitting the theme of “Move, Learn and Discover”.

Activities will include a seminar on “Sports and the Environment” on June 22 at Dutch Bangla Auditorium of Olympic Bhaban; a children’s art competition in various age groups on June 23 at the media centre of Olympic Bhaban; Olympic Day Run on June 24 at Dhaka and in all 64 districts of the country; blood donation programme on June 24 at NSC premises; and a day-long sports programme for orphan children on June 24.

Coca-Cola is the main sponsor of the event; however, BOA is open to take co-sponsors for these Olympic Day celebrations.
