14 Jun 2011, Kuwait: As Olympic Day draws near, more and more Asian National Olympic Committees are coming forward to share their plans and activities with the Asian Olympic Family and the global Olympic Movement.
Joining the long list of Asian NOCs celebrating Olympic Day on or around June 23 are the National Olympic Committee of Kyrgyz Republic and the Indonesia Olympic Committee.
NOC Kyrgyz Republic Director Salamat Ergeshov informs the OCA that they are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the NOC this year.
“We will organise several sports and cultural activities in September-October. Olympic Day will be held also during these dates. We are discussing the programme of our activities with sports federations and ministries,” says Salamat.
Dr Greg Wilson, PhD, Programme Manager for the Indonesia Olympic Committee, informs OCA that Olympic Day will be celebrated this year with the new IOC TOP partner P&G on Sunday, July 3.
The details have still to be finalised by the two NOCs, but there is no doubt the OCA will be one of the most active continental organisations around the world celebrating Olympic Day 2011.
