Olympic Day celebrations in Nepal

18 Jun 2014 - Kathmandu, Nepal: Nepal Olympic Committee is celebrating Olympic Day 2014 with a series of 15 different programmes over 10 days. On the first day, Saturday, June 14, 500 cyclists took part in a cycle rally; the next day, Gems School organised a road race (10.5km for boys and 6.5km for girls). Other events will include a table tennis competition.

In other news from Nepal:

Nepal Olympic Committee and Nepal Boxing Association conducted an Olympic Solidarity technical course for 22 boxing coaches (AIBA one star coaches' course) from May 9 to June 13.

The course was conducted by the three stars AIBA instructor Mr Indrasena RUBASINGHE KANKANAMGE (SRI). Nepal NOC President Mr Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan stressed the importance of the course towards the development of boxing and distributed the IOC diploma to all the participants.

The President of Nepal Boxing Association, Mr Rajiv Shrestha, said the boxing community in Nepal was looking forward to continued cooperation and support from the NOC and AIBA for the bright future of boxing in Nepal. (Source: www.nocnepal.org)
