China's participation in the 5th World Sport for All Games a success

17 July 2012, Beijing - The 5th TAFISA World Sport for All Games concluded in Siauliai, Lithuania on 11 July 2012. With the participation of 6,895 people from 59 countries and regions, the week-long Games featured 130 competition events, cultural and scientific programs and demonstration of national traditional sports as well as forums and seminars.

The Chinese delegation took part in the competition of sports dance and model ship and the demonstration of health qigong. The four sports dancers, all from Beijing Sport University, made a clean sweep of the 6 gold medals and 4 silver medals in all the six events contested. Among the five Chinese athletes competing in three model ship events, Gong Qunxing from Zhejiang Province earned a bronze medal in the FSR-V15 class. The health qigong team from central China's Wuhan Sports University in Hubei Province gave four demonstrations and had some teaching and studying sessions for interaction with athletes from other parts of the world, arousing their wide interest in China's traditional sports events and adding a new lustre to these Games.

During the 5th World Sport for All Games China's Vice Minister in charge of the General Administration of Sport Feng Jianzhong also attended the TAFISA Executive Board Meeting in his capacity of the TAFISA Vice President.
